Metro Health Department To Offer Health Providers H1N1 FluMist
Clinic to Open October 12
NASHVILLE, Tenn., October 7, 2009 -- The Metro Public Health Department announced plans today to open a vaccination clinic offering H1N1 FluMist® nasal spray to front line health care workers -- especially those who are in direct daily contact with patients with symptoms of influenza.
The Health Department’s H1N1 FluMist® clinic will open Monday, October 12. The Health Department’s clinic will be located at the Lentz Health Center, 311 23rd Avenue North, and will be open from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The FluMist® nasal spray vaccine is for healthy, non-pregnant people aged 2-49.
The Health Department expects to have 4,900 doses of the FluMist when the clinic opens on Monday. The Health Department has not yet received any shipments of the injectable H1N1 vaccine.
Vaccinations will be offered free.
