The Nashville Community Health and Wellness Team, a local 501(c)(3) community coalition whose mission is to empower the Nashville area to be active and eat healthy, has developed a new website - http://www.nashvillechwt.org. The website includes educational information on healthy eating and active living as well as information regarding Walk Nashville Week 2009.

The 2009 Walk Nashville Week will take place October 3-9, 2009. This will be the 11th year of the annual event that promotes walking throughout the Nashville community. The week includes the following events:

  • Walk to Worship (October 3-4)
  • Walk Your Neighborhood (October 5)
  • Walk to Work (October 6)
  • Walk to School (October 7)
  • Walk for Active Aging (October 8)
  • Nashville on the Move Day (October 9)

Visitors to the website can get more details on each of the events, and can register their church, business, or themselves to participate in Walk Nashville Week events.

“We see this website as an opportunity for the Nashville community to learn more about healthy eating and active living, and to create a bigger and better Walk Nashville Week,” said Matt Coleman, Community Health and Wellness Team Coordinator.
